I really thought that this game might actually bring the nostalgia. Mixing veteran legends such as Hulk Hogan and Ted Dibiase with newer legends like Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock, WWE legends is that same old game. While I though it would be mildly amusing to give this demo a try, I was really bored with the results. Using the same tried and true but stale gameplay and controller layout, the graphics and feel of the game were mundane and played out. The character models for the wrestlers were huge and sweaty, but everything else was just so stock. The blood effects were great, though. Hulk Hogan and Andre The Giant were the two choosable characters and exhibition mode was offered. I played through a couple of matches but was reminded why I never really liked these type of games. The grappling system was super redundant to me and I felt like this game needed a definite facelift despite its throwback setting. I think if you don’t expect anything more out of these type of games besides the legendary characters then you will be pleased. Anyone looking for something more will want to look somewhere else. WWE Legends of WrestleMania will slam through store windows on March 24th for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
