Toshiba, yes the same company that is best known for laptops and TVs, has officially launched the TG01, a 4.1-inch touchscreen phone. Under the hood is a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, which is said to be one of the faster cell phone chips on the market. The handset measures just 9.9mm thick (iPhone 3G is 12.3mm thick) and includes HSDPA 3G, A-GPS, microSD card slot on top of 512MB built-in, and something Tosh calls the G-sensor, which is basically an accelerometer. Unfortunately, the phone is backed by Windows Mobile 6.1, but much like HTC, it has been skinned with a proprietary UI that looks just ok. Video below
