Camera — 17 February 2009

Sony announced an updated W230 and new W290 Cybershot camera today. Both point and shots offer a 12.1-megapixel image sensor and 3-inch LCD, while the W230 sports a 4x optical zoom (last year’s was 3x) and the W290 a 5x optical zoom. The W290 further distinguishes itself by featuring a mode that detects scene conditions and adjusts accordingly. At the end of the day, they’re your typical point and shot digital camera.
The Sony Cybershot W230 and 290 will be available in a variety of colors this April for about $200 and $250 respectively.
