The blogosphere is a flutter with the story about India’s ultra cheap laptop. I recall reading about it in Wired magazine many years ago, but then things went quiet. Now, it looks like India’s government, who has largely funded the project called Sakshat, is releasing some details. Storage, screen size – just about everything – is still unknown at this point, with the exception of 2GB of storage, WiFi, Ethernet and 2 watts of power consumption. Sakshat is said to be going on sale for about $10 to $20 this summer, but without even a demo model on hand during the announcement I’d look to delusions of grandeur.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
