Nope, it’s not a headset from the Borg contingency. In fact, it’s a medical device that is currently in testing to help promote brain cell growth and curb the affects of Alzheimer’s disease. Pictured here is author Sir Terry Pratchett. After wearing the infrared producing helmet for 3 months the author only had a small improvement with the disease, but most importantly it didn’t get worse. According to Dailymail a clinical trial is expected soon.
