What is it: NuM8 GPS Child Locator Watch from Lok8u.  The child wears the watch and if he/she steps outside a safe zone, the parent receives a text or alert with their location.  If the child is lost, the parent can text the device asking for its location.  The location is presented in text via Long and Lat coordinates in addition to a link to Google maps.

Features: Locks to a child’s wrist (requires a key to remove), ages 3-11 recommended, safe zones, waterproof up to 10 meters, 3 days on standby, GPRS, animal and adult versions on the way.

Availability: Later this year

Price: $200 plus $10 monthly
