Acer, to little or no fanfare, just introduced two new pieces of computer gear, the Aspire X1700 desktop PC and 23-inch 16:9 H233H.
The H233H uses ‘SensorTouch technology’, and before you get all excited, relax, it’s just they’re gimmicky touch setting controls. The monitor boasts a 1920×1080 resolution, 40,000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 5ms response time and HDMI + DVI inputs.
The Aspire X1700, which is ‘small form factor’ PC, packs in a 2.4Ghz Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor E2200, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, 640GB SATA II HDD, DVD burner with Labelflash, NVIDIA GeForce 7100 Chipset and nForce 630i, integrated NVIDIA GeForce G100 with 512MB Discrete Graphic Card, 14-in-one media card reader, 9x USB ports, and Windows Vista Home Premium.
The H223H is $230 and the Aspire series starts at $480. Both are available now if not shortly.
