Tweeter Finally Shuts Down, Shafts Employees And Customers
I don’t know if you remember Tweeter, but I do, because I used to work there. The company has been in financial trouble for something like two years and after closing endless stores and downsizing, they finally conceded defeat sometime earlier this year or late last year. So they began the inevitable process of liquidating their merchandise and many of their employees stayed on to assist during the process. Well, apparently no good deed goes unpunished. Last week, December 2nd, Tweeter employees were locked out of the stores, told to forget about any owed pay, and to add insult to injury weren’t allowed to collect their personal things. Thoughtful huh? Tweeter employees retaliated and took over Tweeter.com’s home page (pictured above). Oh ya, if you bought anything or had shit on layaway, good luck getting that money back.
