Stamp Out Global Warming With The Power Generating Floor

Yesterday we saw the power generating rotating door.  Today, we’ve got the perfect suitor: the power generating floor.  Combine the two and it’s a match made in renewable energy heaven.  The contraption you’re looking at – it’s actually called Piezoelectric flooring – has been implemented at East Japan’s Railway Company Tokyo Station.  As hordes of people pass through the pay kiosk their ‘stamping’ power is captured and converted into electricity.  They Piezoelectric flooring system currently generates up to 1,400kw per day.
