Upscaling Blu-ray and DVD players are nothing new, but until today no TV on the market performed this feat.  Using a technology Toshiba calls ‘Resolution +’, the sets can upscale standard definition images to what Toshiba is claiming to be ‘almost HD quality’.

The Regza ZV series will also boast a 1920×1080 resolution, Active Vision M100 HD 100Hz picture processing, 30,000:1 contrast ratio and 10-Bit color processing. They’ll be available in a 42″ and 46″ size, and launched in the UK for £899.99 ($1,400) and £1199.99 ($1,875) respectively.
