Computers Displays DVR Holiday 2008 Gift Guide — 10 November 2008
What do you get when you combine a Tivo, Blu-ray player and an iMac together? The Allio 42-inch HDTV of course. Inside is an Intel Core2Duo E8400 processor, 4GB of RAM from Silicon Mountain, a 1TB hard drive and the 64-bit version of Windows Vista Home Premium. You can surf the Net, record a show, or open up Hulu or YouTube and ‘demand’ your favorite videos and Web clips, all without any external device. Silicon Mountain has even beaten Sharp to market with the first HDTV to include a built-in Blu-ray player.
Silicon Mountain’s Allio all-in-one PC TVs start at $1,600 (32″ version) and they’re taking preorders here. They’ll ship November 15th.
