Fusion CA-IP500 iPod Receiver Now Available For Purchase

Remember that CA-IP500, the world’s first car receiver with an internal iPod dock.  Guess what?  It’s available now for $242, but you’ll have to search far and wide to locate one in your area, that is assuming you’re not in Australia, New Zealand or the UK.  To add insult to injury, it looks like you can’t just jam your iPod into the player without first fitting your choice of iPod with the proprietary ‘sleeve’ (the Classic might be exempt from the sleeve and there’s no iPhone compatibility).  Sleeve aside, it’s simply a kick ass product.

I have this headunit. Yes there are sleeves for different types of iPod but the sleeve fits into the headunit not the iPod so you can just flip the front drop and slide in a naked iPod.

It does mean if you had different gen iPods you wanted to interchange you need to change the sleeves in the headunit.
