AT&T Hooks Up iPhone Users With Free WiFi…Finally
October 29th, 2008 1:21 PM | by Christen da Costa | No Comments
I think it was like a year ago when AT&T said they’d provide free WiFi at all Hotspot locations for iPhone owners. Then they reneged on the offer and pissed off a lot of people, including me. Looks like they’re finally making good on the offer and today announced free WiFi to iPhone users at “1000s of locations”.
To access the Free WiFi you’ll need to do the following:
- Turn on your iPhone’s WiFi
- Select “attwifi”
- Enter your 10-digit phone number
- You’ll then receive a free text message with a link
- Click that link and whammo, you’ve got free WiFi on your iPhone for a 24-hour period
First thing I’m gonna try to do is access the link from a laptop and see if ‘faking’ the browser client is necessary. Can’t hurt to try, right?
Official announcement here
[Thanks, Erik]
