LCD — 04 September 2008
If you’ve lived in So Cal, Florida, or some southern region of the world, than you’ve probably never experienced seasonal depression. Yup, it exists, and when I lived in Boston the days grew rapidly short from September on, and so did my patience with people – hence the affects of limited sunlight. Philips is attempting to tackle this problem, or a small portion of it, by embedding a light in the circumference of an LCD monitor that provides a mild form of light therapy. Probably not economically justified for geos with just short days, but for those near the North Pole it could be a God send, or those that don’t leave their cubicle.
