Cell Phones — 02 September 2008
I reported on the ‘Comes With Music‘ service last year, and finally the Nokia service has launched. In a nutshell, the ‘Comes With Music’ service is bundled with the purchase of a Nokia phone and provides users unlimited downloads of the music of their choice. Subscription length is 1 year and after expiration the user can keep and continue to listen to the downloaded tunes. The first Nokia phone to launch with the ‘Comes With Music’ service is the 5310 Xpressmusic via the Carphone Warehouse, which is only availble in the EU. The Nokia music store is smaller than that of iTunes (whose isn’t) but they’ve signed 3 major labels: Universal, Sony BMG and Unverisal Music Group.
