Google, the smart cookies that they are, added Face Recognition to its photo service (Picasa) today. It’s a pretty straight forward service. You just associate a name with a face, and Google will proceed to search, and index the rest of your photos and tag faces accordingly. I have yet to try it out, but I’m sure some will welcome the service with open arms, while others will shiver in fear of ‘big brother’. Cnet gave the service a complete once over and along the way discovered a few flaws, such as tagging bicycle wheels as people.
