Buffalo Claims Thinnest Hard Drive: The MiniStation Shinobi

Although I’m unable to do a side-by-side comparison, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this hard drive is using the same 1.8-inch platters as featured in the Samsung Black Edition Q series drive we saw in late August.  So is it really much slimmer?  Buffalo is claiming .5mm thick and 2oz, but one thing is for sure, the price as well as the storage is greater.  The MiniStation Shinobi, which features a self contained USB plug, comes in 30 and 60GB capacities, spins at 4200 rpms and costs $120 and $170 respectively.
