Intel announced the specs of their USB 3.0 “SuperSpeed” host controller standard. It’s an open, free standard supported by the major players including AMD, Microsoft, and Dell.
According to the specs, USB 3.0 maxes out at 4.8 Gb/s which is about 10x the speed of USB 2.0. Whoa Nelly. So what does this mean for you? Not much at the moment, but expect super speed (pun intended) transfers to your MP3 player sometime in the near future.
