At first glance this looks like an illusion, but by the end of the clip my mind was churning with all the potential uses for this, uh, contraption. The options are endless- chair, couch, ottoman, bed, table, or maybe even a work of art, if you’re into that kind of thing. It’s hard to tell from the video if this would actually be comfortable, but it couldn’t be any worse than the bean bag currently taking up residence in my hall closet. That said, the skeptical side of me questions the chair’s firmness; the women in the video don’t sink into it, but I wonder if it would buckle under the weight of heftier people (if you’ve ever seen a Chris Farley movie, you know what I’m talking about).
All in all, I appreciate the practicality of the design, but it’s just a little bit gimmicky (although still a step up from the bean bag). Survey says: I would consider buying it if it passes the firmness test, but it would probably end up in my hall closet after the novelty factor wears off. At least it would fit nicely.
