Cell Phones — 28 March 2008

Rogers Wireless of Canada has teamed up with Live Nation (concert ticket retailer) to offer paperless ticketing, something they’ve called Wireless Box Office. Not only is the system green, but it eliminates the possibility of losing your ticket, as long as you don’t delete it from your cell phone. It works like this: the user purchases the ticket on their handset and a paperless electronic ticket it sent to their phone via MMS (multimedia message). The concert goer then presents the MMS in lieu of a papered ticket. Simple, clean and green.
