Panasonic’s Toughbooks are designed to withstand abuse from workers with ‘in the field jobs’ that might bump, knock, drop or scratch their laptops. SentrySafe hopes to complement those laptops with a new breed of hard drives that are fire and water resistant. Inside sits a Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini hard drive and thanks to Sentry Safe’s special casing can withstand temperatures of 1,500 degrees F for 30 minutes and can survive submersion in water for up to 24 hours.
SentrySafe hard drives come in 80GB ($260) and 160GB ($340) models.
