March 24th, 2008

Sentry Safe Hard DrivesPanasonic’s Toughbooks are designed to withstand abuse from workers with ‘in the field jobs’ that might bump, knock, drop or scratch their laptops. SentrySafe hopes to complement those laptops with a new breed of hard drives that are fire and water resistant. Inside sits a Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini hard drive and thanks to Sentry Safe’s special casing can withstand temperatures of 1,500 degrees F for 30 minutes and can survive submersion in water for up to 24 hours.

SentrySafe hard drives come in 80GB ($260) and 160GB ($340) models.
