PV Mobile
iPhone video viewing is currently limited to Youtube, and any uploaded videos into iTunes. Packetvideo’s newest offering, the PV Mobile receiver, is going to change that by enabling any streaming TV standard (TDtv, DVB-H and MediaFLO) to be sent to any compatible handset via WiFi, or other wireless connections (sounds like this hasn’t been determined). The signal is received on the device and accessed, from what it looks like, by reaching an IP address or website via the device’s browser (probably like accessing a router). The device runs off a internal lithium ion battery, which will be reflected in a color-changing glow as juice is drained. In addition to the iPhone, the PV Mobile is expected to be compatible with other major handset manufactures such as Nokia and HTC. It should work with older handsets assuming they sport the necessary infrastructure.
