MirrorPilot: Rearview and GPS In One

February 17th, 2008

Mirror Pilot
One of the dangers of enjoying GPS navigation is the inherent distraction. The GPS MirrorPilot looks to eliminate this problem. Integrated into the rearview mirror is an ANTARIS 4 GPS receiver and a 65k color, 2.2” QVGA screen where directions can be viewed in a 2D or 3D format. Memory is stored on an SD card, which should allow for additional maps and countries to be added. Input is had through an infrared remote, a built-in speaker will announce directions, and when powered downed the MirrorPilot appears as a regular rearview.

More info here (warning: it’s in German).

Moree pics after the ‘leap’.
