Paramount has dropped Blu Ray in favor of HD DVD. One, its cheaper to produce HD DVD discs. Two its more “market ready – whatever that means. And three, HD DVD offered (allegedly) $50 million and $100 million in marketing dollars.

good, blu ray is a waste. and hd-dvd is probably more “market ready” because the players are about 1/2 the price of a blu ray player. but i think the vast majority of consumers are happy with their 20-30 dollar players that work just fine, and if you spend more then that on your movies you’d better be watching them for like 8 hours a day.

Looking back, it’s fun to read comments like yours D. With today’s announcement, do you feel like an idiot yet? Blu-Ray won, deal with it.
