Cingular Adds Unlimited “IN Text Messaging”

Recently Cingular and Verizon increased it’s per text message cost from $0.10 to $0.15. They’ve obviously ran the numbers and seen the profits. In fact, I’ve known teenagers whose Family Plan’s cost ballooned due to finger mashing, not chit-chatting. To remain competitive in the cell phone marketplace and to lock in some guaranteed monthly revenue, Cingular will soon start to offer unlimited ‘in network’ text messaging for $5/month. You’ll have to subscribe to a text or media package to be eligible – means the lowest amount you could pay for this feature is $10 ($5 text bundle at Cingular gets you 200 texts a month). The ‘IN text’ option includes photos, texts, video messages, but not instant messages.

why on earth should we pay 20 dollars for unlimited texting, you guys are going to start loosing alot of customers ,when other companies are asking for half that price, to text all networks.
And some are FREE!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, we did the plan were you have 200 texts a month. That didn’t work out too well cause I used it up in one day! Thats $10 for one freakin day of the month. I mean how do you live without texting! My dad bought the unlimited texting but he said that it cost him $30, I mean that is ridiculous, I don’t even know if I can send to people not in cingular with that! What kind of people are you? You are going to loose all of your customers, including me if you don’t lower your prices!

It should be $5 a month for 200 free texts and $10 a month for unlimited to anywhere. I think that it is pretty dumb to pay that much for unlimited and only be able to text the people in cingular!

Okay, here is the plan!!!!!!!!! If you want cingular to hear you go up to contact us, put in your REAL email and type in your REAL name and put in your comments or concerns. (in this case concerns) These they have to read, and these they will pay more attention to. I am just trying to help, I already put in my concern and I read through all 54 of these messeges trying to put it all in one paragraph. I did it, and I hope they read it. If we all did it, having the same concern as everyone else, they will surely fix something. At least the texting to different networks and not the mobile to mobile.

i think that cingular needs to lower the unlimted texting price verizon’s price is about 10 dollars for unlimited and cingualar’s price is 20 i think its ridiculous

I just copied this entire webpage and sent it to cingular via their "contact us" link. Hopefully all the above mentioned prayers will be heard by the Almight corporate executives who, so badly need to make few more millions in addition to the ones the already are taking home each month. They need bring themself down to our- middle class, working people who make up majority of there consumer base.

I agree, cingulars text messaging to everyone for 20$ is such a ripoff.
seriously, if they were to forget the mobile to mobile and just turn that into texting for all services, even raise it to 10 dollers, that would make them definately dominate over the other phone companies.
instead they are choosing to rip people off and letting the other companies have the profits.
in the long run this is going to hurt them more than help them, they just dont see it.

cingular is never any fun when it comes to their prepaid rates. Its like they bully prepaid customers! I mean c’mon, they’re rates are ridculously high, and for what? I mean a penny per KB for mobile web, even when you’re trying to buy a game or ringtone from them? That’s pretty stupid. I think they should come up with a $15-$35 a month unlimited prepaid texting AND data. Now if they could do that, that would be the EFFING best!
