  4. Toshiba Announces 16GB USB Stick - Gadget Review Says:

[...] About 6 month ago a company called Cell Disk boasted the largest USB stick. We all knew that wouldn’t last long considering the memory debacle we have all come to hate and love - Apple’s iPod comes to mind. Toshiba recently announced the soon to be available Toshiba 16GB USB Stick. A price hasn’t been announced yet, but according to T3 we should expect this device sometime in November of this year. No doubt someone, perhaps SanDisk, or some other memory manufacture will counter with a 32GB stick shortly after its release. Now, why haven’t we seen an MP3 players of this capacity emerge? Perhaps to expensive. [...]

“Sansa can now boast the biggest Flash Memory based MP3 on the market.”

    ????

Sandisk has been able to boast of this claim all the way back to late May or early June, with their 6GB e270 Sansa. The Nano was the first DAP to break the 4GB flash barrier, but now there are several other flash DAP’s out there that meet this capacity (the iriver Clix, the Creative Zen V, the Samsung Z5, etc.).

I imagine that Apple is going to come out soon with the 2nd generation Nano, but it will only have 6GB and 8GB’s like the Sansa’s……..but I also feel that it will be more expensive than the Sansa’s.

  7. Apple Releases New iPod Nanos - 2GB to 8GB - Gadget Review Says:

[...] So in case you haven’t heard, Apple today released a new fangled iPod Nano. The new Nanos more closely resemble the somewhat recently discontinued iPod Minis. They’re now available in gray, green, blue, pink, and black. More importantly Apple has bumped capacity to 8GB, which is available only in Black, and discontinued the 1GB model. A 2 gigger is available, but that only comes in a gray, while the other select colors come in a 4GB capacity. Price for the new Nanos start at $149 and go up to $249 (equivalent in price to the 8GB Sansa we recently featured). Apple’s new Nanos are also boasting (according to the Apple site) an “even brighter color screen” and up to 24 hours of battery life (previous Nanos were rated at 14 hours). The new Nanos measure 3.5″ tall, 1.6″ wide, and “just over a quarter of an inch thin”. [...]
