Apple MacBook Released!

Apple MacBook

Apply has finally released the eagerly-awaited, Intel-based MacBooks — the follow-up to the iBook.  Just how does the Apple MacBook stack up to its big brother the MacBook Pro?

The Apple MacBook features a 13.3″ widescreen display (1280 x 800), 1.83 Ghz or 2.0 Ghz Intel Core Duo, and can even feature a SuperDrive.  Like the MacBook Pro you’ll get the new MagSafe power adapter, Apple Remote, and built-in iSight.  Unlike the Pro, the MacBook will be available in white and black.

With the same speed bus, max of 2 GB of memory, and 2.0 Ghz Intel Core Duo, it looks like the beefy MacBook Pro is in the need of an upgrade to keep its premium price tag.  Especially when you consider the MacBook starts at $1099!

Nice! My lap hasn’t been this happy since Vegas, where I found boxer-briefs on sale for $0.99! In both cases, just like Apple, I also released…but for me it was my wallet!

However, the Macbook only has an integrated graphics chip, whereas I believe the Pro has an x1600 mobility chip.

I ,would love to see *native* PC compatability with this. then it should blow most PC books away.
