This USB Wireless PC Lock from Think Geek is actually a pretty innovative security system. It consists of two pieces, a USB dongle which attaches to your PC and a battery-powered keychain transmitter. As soon as the transmitter is more than 2 meters away from the PC, the PC automatically locks the PC. Once you get back within 2 meters — unlocked. Yes, there is a manual override in case your transmitter runs out of batteris or you lose the device.
The software is currently only compatible with Windows and does not work with dual screen computers.
Available from Think Geek for $29.99.

[...] Here’s a cool, simple little device for those of you who are paranoid about PC security. The USB wireless PC lock from Think Geek comes in two parts. You plug the USB dongle into your USB and you attach the transmitter to your keychain or stick it in your pocket or something. As long as the transmitter is within two meters of the dongle your system will run as smooth as silk. As soon as it moves outside of the two meter range, though, the PC is automatically locked up tight. Move back within two meters again and you are back in action. Plus, it costs under $30. Pretty cool. (Gadget Review) [...]
