HP Recalls 15,700 Notebook Batteries

HP Battery Recall

HP has recalled 15,700 batteries from its HP and Compaq line of Notebook computers. The recalls stem from over 20 reports of batteries over heating, with one report of a minor burn injury. Batteries recalled are lithium ion, were manufactured in January 2005, and have a bar code label that starts with L3. Of the 15,700 recalled batteries, 4,100 are in the US. Expect to find the batteries on the following models: dv1xxx and ze2xxx in the HP Pavilion Family, nx48xx in the HP Compaq Family, and V2xxx and M2xxx in the Compaq Presario Family, according to the CPSC.
