HP Recalls 15,700 Notebook Batteries

The recalls stem from over 20 reports of batteries over heating, with one report of a minor burn injury. Batteries recalled are lithium ion, were manufactured in January 2005, and have a bar code label that starts with L3. Of the 15,700 recalled batteries, 4,100 are in the US. Expect to find the batteries on the following models: dv1xxx and ze2xxx in the HP Pavilion Family, nx48xx in the HP Compaq Family, and V2xxx and M2xxx in the Compaq Presario Family, according to the CPSC.
