ABC to offer free shows online

150px ABC ABC to offer free shows onlineABC, owned by Disney, has been offering television show downloads for $1.99 on the Apple iTunes Store for awhile now.  However, now, even after Steve Jobs became a majority shareholder in Disney, ABC is going to offer its sites for free on ABC.com.

Of course, with free television comes ads.  The $1.99 on the iTunes store won’t be a complete waste of time as it gets you a commercial free download.

The offerings will include “Desperate Housewives,” “Lost,” “Commander in Chief,” and “Alias.”  Much like the iTunes store, episodes will be available for download the day after they premier on ABC.

Now my question is how did Alias make it to the website, yet the number one watched show on television, Grey’s Anatomy, didn’t make the cut?
