Software Based WiFi Isn’t Too Far Away

Some scientists at Dublin’s CTVR (Center for Telecommunications ValueChain Research) hope to curb this adoption frenzy by developing a device that is a ‘software-defined’ radio. This means that the device will scan the area, convert it to a digital format, and then through software adopt the most suitable frequency. Lab tests have proved successful which means a move to real world testing.
