AeroGarden Grows Plants and Herbs w/out Soil

Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."

  1. Hey, Sam, have you researched the pictures? It IS Aeroponics…the plants are suspended above the water level and water is “trickled” into the sponge that the seeds sprout into. The plants are never “floating in water” until the roots grow long enough…then they are still suspended in the air. Duh.

  2. Matt, this is hydroponics, not aeroponics. Without “aeration”, such as misters and pressure sprays, this is just plants floating in water, ergo “hydroponics”, regardless of what the company or name of the product says. Don’t get branded, dude.

  3. Dude, this is Aeroponics, not hydroponics. Hydroponics doesnot mean without soil. I know plenty of people that grow veggies with Hydro and they use soil. Aerponics is truly without any growing medium whatsoever.

  4. Hydroponics..yes. We got a unit to see just what this thing is. This is the simplest system we have EVER set up! We’ll track the growth and update the page once a week…be interesting to see how it compares to our urban garden’s stuff :-)
