Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."

  1. OK, after a few days,
here are a few comments about my new Vosonic 6230 120GB.

My biggest deception is the fact that it doesn’t have a search function. With my collection of more than 2000 albums, it’s long to reach the files I want.
Other than that, the battery is long to recharge.
And even if the device looks like working right out of the box, here’s an advice: format the device and all the folders will automatically be put in order, and the it’ll work OK.

About ID3 tags: you can NOT search by artist, album, etc, but when the music plays, these ID3 informations are displayed.
Carefully read the manual before use, the interface is not very intuitive, but once it’s done, playing with this toy is a pleasure.

Also, it’s light, not so big (I’m used to carry a 60GB Creative zen xtra, and the Vosonic is slightly bigger), the remote works fine, the card readers too, there’s no big issue.
But again, Vosonic, add a search function, and it’s a real deal. (380 US$ at Digitaldiscount.com, where people were very professionnal and sent my device in 48 hours)
    Hope this’ll help.

    But it’s beautiful, crisp screen,

  2. I just bought a Vosonic 6230 120GB, it’s the same, but in addition, it doesn’t have the awful red color and it supports ID3 tags system. Other than that, it’s the same device with the same accessoiries, except for the speaker case, with the Vosonic you get a normal carrying case.
Oh, and it’s much, much, much cheaper to buy.
At this point, I’m very satisfied with it.
    (I’m a former user of a Creative 60GB unit)
    Hope this’ll help!
