I had no idea, but apparently over 213 deaths were reported last year in the US as a result of parents forgetting their children in the car. Thanks to a new gadget called the Baby’s Alert Child Minder parents can help curb toddler backseat deaths. The device works by installing the “active buckle� to the child’s seat belt, and attaching the monitoring device to the car key’s ring. Walk 20’ or more beyond the active buckle when it’s still fastened, and the monitor emits a nursery rhyme reminding the neglectful parental unit.
