I had no idea, but apparently over 213 deaths were reported last year in the US as a result of parents forgetting their children in the car. Thanks to a new gadget called the Baby’s Alert Child Minder parents can help curb toddler backseat deaths. The device works by installing the “active buckle? to the child’s seat belt, and attaching the monitoring device to the car key’s ring. Walk 20’ or more beyond the active buckle when it’s still fastened, and the monitor emits a nursery rhyme reminding the neglectful parental unit.
