Mac Mini In a 1980s Mac

February 6th, 2006

Some guy in Japan managed to cram a Mac Mini into an old Apple SE30 case. He even got it working with the gray scale monitor and all. My family had one of these when I was
a kid and it even had its own carrying case.

Full details and pics here.

[…] I just love this one. Some Guy in Japan has taken the Mac Mini and placed it in the circa 1989 Mac SE/30. They even get it to work with the grey screen. He documented the process in a ‘clumsy style’ and it can all be found here. When the Se/30 first came out it cost $4400 or $4900 with a hard drive and had a 16 MHz chip. I had an SE30 in college … man to stare at the tiny screen again, this time at OSX. Too bizarre. Better yet, stick boot camp in there and get Windows XP on an SE30!

This is really a crappy hack, putting a MACmini in a SE30 case is pretty easy as it just drops in, the case would be big enough to put a lot more in there and i would definitely use a LCD display instead of the CRT, plus it would make it easyer.

The guy used electric tape to hold the thing in place, and what about the Tube and the stick … this is to me butchering both a SE30 and a MACmini.

Good idea, Bad way of doing it!

I’m having some problems making the table “sort when the page loads. I want the table column with, say, names to sort itself alphabetically when you look at the page initially, not only when you click.
