The BioKnob, by Tychisystems, can replace any preexisting door knob and provide fingerprint security access for up to 100 people. The biometric security device also records and stores the last 1000 users detailing user info, time and date of entry. The actual fingerprint is not stored – a template is created – which deters finger print theft and recreation. The BioKnob is powered by AC rechargeable batteries, and will signal an alert when only 50 ‘opens’ remain. No word on availability, but comes in gold or silver.
