There’s no doubt that it totally blows to manually enter you phone book’s contents into your cell. Even worse is when you go through this pain staking task and then lose your phone. Most phones these days sport Bluetooth or a USB interface enabling home base hook up, but for the old school cell users, or older phone models, the CellStik is the perfect companion to store and transfer your phone book info. Just plug the little device into your phone, store the info and transfer. Or update it by attaching it to your computer.
Available here for $40.

WHERE CAN I BUY IT
Garry, please see the above link. You can purchase this item at Amazon and probably many other online retailers.
Its quite a pain to manually update phone data. Memory stick seems ok but I prefer using online services. The reason being is the mobility factor e.g if I am away from home and loses my mobile, all I need to do is to re-sync the new phone and download complete data then and there.
There are quite a few free services like o-sync, mightybackup and zyb who offers online backup. Lately I changed my phone and with an account on zyb.com, I downloaded all the data while standing on the mobile shop. isnt it a better option?
