Pretty soon you’re going to be able to feel your ringtones thanks to VibeTonz. This new technology will be featured on a Samsung and hitting the market soon.
This embedded chip basically allows the phone to produce a range of ‘vibro-tacticle’ sensations. While obviously current generation phones can vibrate, this technology sounds like it’s going to promise us multiple frequencies in addition to durations and strengths.
While it should be pretty cool to have different VibeTonz in the same way we have different ringers, there’s probably more implications of this for the mobile games market.
We’ll report more as more is revealed about the technology.
