Gaming — 25 January 2006
It’s official. The Nintendo Revolution will be released by Thanksgiving 2006 in North America. Japan should see the system by Christmas. No word yet on Europe. Guess there goes that sumultaneous world wide launch. Since we’re getting it first, who cares?
The release timeframe was confirmed by both company president Satoru Iwata and Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime.
Release in North America should absolutely see a price tag of less than $300 according to Fils-Aime.
Update: The official name of the Revolution has been released, called Wii (pronounced ‘we’).  Go here for more info, although we can’t say it is much.
