Motorola and Cingular released the SLVR 7 today. If you remember, we featured a review of the SLVR sans iTunes from Mobile Review back in October. This time PC Magazine has taken a quick look at the designer phone, and boy am I already disappointed. The SLVR is touted as the alternative to the RAZR because it sports similar design cues, but in a candy bar shape. Unfortunately, Motorola followed too closely behind its other iTunes embedded product, the ROKR, and has included the same lame 100 song constraint. The camera is also stock with VGA capture at best, and I/O is USB 1.1 matched with slow ass GPRS. Currently the phone goes for $200 with a 2 year contract. As usual expect that price to drop in the next few months. We’ll follow up with PCMag’s expected review next week.
