Styrofoam To Build Houses – Grancrete

grancrete 756578 Styrofoam To Build Houses GrancreteA product that was originally designed to encase radio active waste is making Styrofoam twice as hard and more durable then concrete, and won’t crack under extreme heat.

It’s called Grancrete, and it can be sprayed onto metal, wood; even ‘woven sugarcane stalk,’ and within 20 minutes you have concrete-like building blocks. Grancrete is made up of sand, ash, magnesium oxide and potassium phosphate, and is apparently going to revolutionize the building industry by providing ‘low-cost high quality shelter for estimated 1 billion people’ – it costs just $20.50 to coat 15 square feet.
