New York transit strike: Segway to the rescue!

December 21st, 2005 7:33 AM | by Christen da Costa | 5 Comments

We’re entering day two of the New York transit strike. Well, you guys are, I’m still in Florida.

Still, millions of New Yorkers are forced to walk while the Transport Workers Union continues to strike despite the $1 million in fines they’re receiving daily for fining. Apparently, there’s laws barring public employees from striking.

While millions of New Yorkers may be forced to walk, those lucky Segway owners are still cruising in to work at 12 mph.

Those of you who laughed at Peter Shankman, CEO of The Geek Factory, when he bought his in April of 2003 did not have the last laugh. I’d say Peter Shankman had the last laugh.
