Clocks Household — 13 December 2005

E-Ink and Citizen Watch announced their bendable clock yesterday. The thing is just 3.0 mm thick, and 1.5 kg in weight. The battery life is also reportedly 20 times that of convential digital clocks. Due to the use of electronic ink, the clock is also viewable at almost 180 degrees.

The bendable clock will be presented at the Citizen Booth at “Eco-Products 2005″ on December 15-17th in Tokyo, Japan.

Probably requires large band width though!

large bandwith??? Maybe a large wrist if you are going to wear it but who said this thing is wired or WiFi or anything. Since when does a clock need to be online? maybe to be in sync with your PC clock but really… It is an amazing technology since it only needs power to change pic and it can stay put without consuming any energy!

i think they meant band width (notice two words) as in the watch “band” would need a significant “width”
    (duh)

The funny thing is that some of us are so embroiled in the high tech world, that we overlook simple things like the width of a watch band, and assume the more technical meaning, so I understand why the second anonymous had that reaction.
