I see KeyCarbon have released thier PCI logger… what happend to yours KeyGhost? You know the one you said that “Units are in pre-production testing” about 6 months ago… after you discovered your competitor was making one.

If you look at the KEYPhantom website now, it does have forensic units for sale. So not vapourware. Looks like wishful thinking from a competitor there. And i’ll be up front here, I have worked for keyphantom, and now that I don’t I can actually reply to these… who is the anonymous poster?

Speaking of ‘maybe’ vapour, how is the PCI logger that’s in pre-production testing going?

No you are wrong mr phantom!

KeyGhost does works on 100% of USB keyboards, and has done since june 2005.

How come the KeyPhantom website advertises the ‘forensic’ version with time and date stamping, then puts in a bullet point note saying “Date/time stamping of keystrokes in the log (firmware upgrade to support this option planned for release in 2006Q1″?
Maybe keyphantom is peddling vapourware products in beta release (look out for the bug-fix firmware updates ;) … but let’s leave this to your phantom customers to find out…

In the mean time, KeyGhost will always release consistantly better products.

Actually, the previous blogger was misinformed – the keylogger from http://www.keyphantom.com was the worlds first USB keylogger to work on 100% of USB keyboards.

The KeyPhantom USB Corporate SE has 1568Mb of memory – that’s 1,500,000 keystrokes!

As for phantom being the first USB keylogger, someone has been misinformed. KeyGhost released the world’s first usb keylogger over a year ago. KeyGhost USB Keylogger 128KB came out of beta for full release in June 05 as a small length of cable. KeyGhost has just released their next version which looks like a cool little thumb drive. It doesn’t show up as an extra hub in your device manager either. They already have the higher memory capacities too with 128-bit encryption. Head over to http://www.keyghost.com

If you look at their webpage (www.keyphantom.com), you’ll see some bigger capacity models are comming out. That said, usually you’d know if you lost something before the 2 week buffer started overflowing anyway.

Yeah, its a pretty neat little device. My lab partner at Uni lost two weeks work on his thesis, and got one of these to stop it happening again. It arrived 3 days ago, and has been working nicely ever since.

I would personally have purchased a USB thumb drive, cause they’re cheaper for a uni student like me. But, you have to regularly drag your files to the thumb drive, unlike the keyphantom which always has a backup, no matter what you’ve typed. I would also like to see them up the memory on the device, 128Kb is a lot (128,000 keystrokes), but it would be nice to have something like 256,000 keystrokes on the base model instead.
