mTrack, the company that created the child tracking service KidsOk, recently launched their location tracking cell phone, the i-Kids mobile. It can apparently track your child within 20 meters of their location via satellite. The device can receive calls and text messages, and offers a select number of buttons, of which 3 can be preprogrammed and one which is a ‘hunt’ button that the child can push in case of emergency.
The i-Kids mobile runs on the KidsOk service and offers 3 ways of locating, or keeping tabs on your child. Either you can track their movement via the web, set up safety zones (kind of like an electronic dog collar, only its your kid), or send a ping to the i-Kids mobile and within 60 seconds receive location and detailed map.
The i-Kids mobile, currently available in the EU only, starts at £50 ($88) and requires a service agreement.
