Sony released its 1â€? thin DSC-T9 six megapixel digital camera today. It features a photo stabilization option (two gyro-sensors that detects movement and compensates to provide a clear shot) that should reduce image blur from movement. The DSC-T9 also has a “folded-path lens systemâ€? which means that the lens doesn’t have to extend from the body and the DSC-T9 can maintain its slender profile. Another included option is the camera’s ability to take pictures without the flash in lowlight situations – called high light sensitivity.

The DSC-T9 also features Sony’s new Clear Photo Plus® 2.5â€? LCD where you can view your photos in a slideshow format.

The camera will be available in January for about $450. Sony is taking preorders now at http://www.sony.com/T9. You can also pick up a cradle/dock for an additional $80.

Other features:

  • 3x optical zoom
  • MPEG movie recording
  • 58mb of internal memory
  • Battery last for 250 shots
