Sharp has launched a line of MP3 players that are shock resistant. Apparently you can drop the device from a height of 4.6 feet and it will be fine. The Sharp MP-S200 and MP-S300, 512mb and 1gb respectively, is surrounded by metal bars – sort of reminds me of the guards you see on SUVs. Not sure if these will help with shock resistance, but the metal bars should add some utilitarian functionality. The device’s shock resistance is further supported by an internal honey comb structure (sounds like marketing to me).
Due to MP3 player competition here in the US, these will only be released in Taiwan.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
