At IREX 2005, Bandai and Namco demonostrated a remote controlled PacMan game. In their demo they had a robotic PacMan controlled by a remote control being chased by a robotic ghost.

Robotic PacMan actually picked up physical pellets. However, I’m afraid it looks like there was no power pellets in the corner! And where are the warps? Well I suppose this is just a prototype and these mistakes can be hammered out.

Unfortunately, given the size of the board and the overall ridiciulousness, I don’t think this project will ever find its way to stores. However, I could definitely see this thing in a Museum of Science. I could then see myself paying $10 to get in to play.
