The folks over at CNET.com have reviewed the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX9. This compact camera features 6 megapixel resolution, 3x optical zoom, and SD memory. What did they think of this $340 point and shoot?

Pros: Optical stabilization improves low-light shooting without flash; jewel-like design and build; decent color rendition; snappy performance.

Cons: Some minor lens aberrations; image-processing artifacts; several controls and icons don’t make sense without manual.

Conclusion: The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX9 is a beautifully built pocket camera that’s good for slow-shutter shooting but suffers from a variety of image flaws.

Rating: 7 / 10
